I began this blog in February of last year with the thought that it would be nice to share our love of local children’s music with other parents. I never expected the site to take us on such an amazing musical adventure!
For the past year we’ve been doing what we always do, listening to kids’ music with our son, Ivan, and attending as many live shows as we can on the weekends and over school breaks.
But we’ve also been talking to the musicians after the shows, connecting with other families, networking with artists around the country, and discovering more new children’s music than we even knew existed!
So as a way to celebrate this last year and all the fun we’ve had I’d like to introduce a new tradition: The First Annual BCM Awards!
I’ve decided to divide the awards into two categories, one for our Favorite Kids’ Albums that were released in 2009, and one for our Favorite Live Performances of 2009.
