Ben Rudnick & Friends in Lexington

Even during these down economic times, many towns around Massachusetts sponsor summer concert series.

You will usually see a sign set up in front of your town hall building telling you what day of the week and where to go (or you can check your town’s website).

The concerts are outside, usually in a big park, and open to the public.

Ben Rudnick and Friends played for the Lexington Summer Concert Series last Friday, so we decided to do a little town hopping and headed over to check it out.

The show took place in front of the Visitor’s Center at 6:30 pm and even though the sky threatened rain, the turn out was great! Everyone showed up with blankets and chairs, picnics and pizzas, and just rocked out with one of the best family bands in New England!

We met our friends there and had a great time. I think we’ll have to make this a regular summer event!
