Big Bug Lunch

I love books that come with music. It’s great to be able to pair the song with the illustrations and story.

Is that called multi-media?

Anyway, whatever it’s called, the concept works really well in Skaie Knox’s new book and CD, Big Bug Lunch!

The title song of the CD follows the story in the book, where Klunkers (a sweetheart terrier) narrates the story of a boy who considers eating bugs for lunch (yuck). The CD continues with nine more original songs, three karaoke versions of the songs, and a bonus narration read-along for the book (in Klunkers’ voice, of course).

My favorite song on the CD is Zoom, a song about taking a ride in a balloon. I also love the rhythm and beat in Dance’n ‘n Drive’n.

Skaie (pronounced Sky) has a really unique voice. Her sound in kind of poppy and she sometimes reminds me of Cindy Lauper. She’s really fun to listen to.

And be sure to check out Klunkers’ Kid’s Korner. It’s a fun site with Klunkers interviews, videos, and even some coloring pages!

I absolutely love this book. It’s fun to watch the kids dance around to the CD, but I have to admit…I like the CD as an adult!!
