Vanessa Trien’s Carnival Day

by Amber on April 3, 2010

Vanessa Trien Carnival DayHave you listened to Vanessa Trien’s newest CD, Carnival Day?

If you know good music and are a fan of local children’s musicians, then I’m sure you have. I’m sure you’ve had the same experience I’ve had finding that you can’t believe you actually like this CD more than Hot Air Balloon (Vanessa’s amazing debut album) and finding that your kids want you to play it over and over… and you’re only too happy to oblige!

We had already heard many of the songs on Carnival Day at Vanessa’s shows, and my son, Ivan, was thrilled to listen to some of the simpler play songs like Cockadoodle Doo (where you pretend to be a rooster, a hen, and a chick) or Driving in My Car (where you get to honk the horn and buckle your seat belt) at home. There’s something very universal about these sorts of songs that ask kids to play out the parts and these two have quickly become Ivan’s favorite games.

It’s also fun to listen to the bigger rock-and-roll songs like Dance Party and High Five and get your kids dancing. If your kids are into play-acting, these are the songs that will get them up on your couch pretending to be on stage while rocking out for the crowd!

Although, I must say that after all the rain we’ve had lately, my favorite song on the album has to be I Can See Clearly Now because the rain is finally gone!

Carnival Day is a must have for any kids’ music collection. You can find it on Amazon or Vanessa’s website. You can listen to clips from the CD here.
