Morgan Taylor is introducing a fantastic new Gustafer Yellowgold Arts Enrichment Program.

Through this program, Morgan works with kids to teach them the basics of cartooning, story telling, and song writing.

The program is available for schools and libraries and geared toward kids of all ages and abilities. In the video below Morgan explains how the program works and how they were able to incorporate three different age groups into one seamless project:

Did you know that Caspar Babypants is now writing kids’ books? It’s true!

I’m sure you’ve noticed that all of Caspar’s album covers are beautifully illustrated with paper cut out pictures. All of those adorable little creatures were created by Caspar’s, that is Chris Ballew’s, real wife, Kate Endle.

So doesn’t it make perfect sense that they would team up to create a couple of bright, colorful, and fun-to-read books for kids? Of course it does!

With Kate illustrating and Caspar writing, these two new books are perfectly balanced and delightfully beautiful. Bunny Rabbit in the Sunlight is a simple board book for little guys and My Woodland Wish is a longer book for bigger guys.

Both are adorable and both follow a similar theme: pictures of cutey pie wild animals and rhymes about what those animals do (and how much we want to play with them).

Plus, each book comes with a FREE Caspar Babypants song that you can download at Caspar’s website.

And speaking of all things cute, bunny, and Caspar Babypants… have you seen the video for Mister Rabbit?

Renee & Jeremy are simply awesome as is. Their music is melodic and beautiful. But they also seem to know all of the coolest artists around and when their songs are accompanied by animation… well, it’s perfection.

I love that Gustafer came to earth “in pursuit of poetry.” He’s here to learn, to experience, and to meet new people. Gus doesn’t have a goal in mind; He’s not the kind of guy looking to answer one question then move on. He’s here to just soak it all in, and that’s what this song is all about – always questing and questioning, sometimes even if there really isn’t an answer.

The concept is so simple and innocent – and so familiar to anyone with kids. Makes me wonder if this song was written by someone with a toddler in the house? What do you think?

Meredith LeVande’s new CD, What are the Odds, is a fresh collection of sweet songs that everyone will love. Ivan rocks out to this CD nearly everyday and I love that Meredith plays with rhymes and rhythms in really interesting ways. Her songs are unique, but still super easy to sing along to.

Ivan was sick last week and all he wanted to do was snuggle and listen to music. I thought this might be a nice opportunity to watch all of our music DVDs while we cuddle on the couch under lots of blankets. Here were our favorites…

Meredith LeVande is one of our new favorite artists. We just love her newest CD What are the Odds, so when we found out she was creating a set of videos for her first album, Monkey Monkey Music, we were pretty excited. We’ve watched her new DVD over and over now and just love it. Monkey Monkey Music: The Videos comes out on December 1st.

Of course, anything by Gustafer Yellowgold is going to be awesome, but our current favorite DVD is the newest one, Gustafer Yellowgold’s Mellow Fever. I can’t get enough of this CD or the DVD and we’re all really looking forward to the newest installment Gustafer Yellowgold’s Infinity Sock due for release in February. For some sneak peaks, check out this post.

The guys from Recess Monkey are often hilarious on their CDs and I’m sure their live shows are a blast (sadly, we still haven’t seen them play live). Their DVD is no exception. Silly and now and then seemingly spontaneous, the videos on Field Trips with Recess Monkey capture the vibe of the band and will really get you and your kids grooving!

Laurie Berkner is on everyone’s list of favorite children’s performers. How is it that she can feel old school classic and kindie hip all at the same time? She really does have a sound that will appeal to just about anyone and her songs are super fun to sing along to. So of course it makes sense that you’d want to sing along to her DVD, Lets Hear It for the Laurie Berkner Band, too. And it’s even easier when the words for each song appear on the screen!
