We first heard Ed Morgan play at the Watertown Library where he’s a regular (he’ll be playing there on Saturday, December 19th), and we were taken not just by his charisma and fun songs, but also by the reaction of his audience. Kids love Ed!
Ed plays a lot of traditional kids songs, from Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to The Muffin Man, all songs that you’ve heard before and everyone can sing along to. He also plays some really sweet original songs, like the Hello Song that little kids respond to very well.
Ed usually plays his acoustic guitar and often brings along his harmonica and kazoo, so he’s really a one-man band, like Burt in Mary Poppins.
Ed is a busy Music Man, performing all over town, from Newton to Framingham, West Roxbury to Pepperell. If you’re looking for something fun to do with your kids on a boring Winter day (the upcoming winter break comes to mind), you should check out Ed’s schedule to see if he’ll be playing near you.
If you stop in on one of Ed’s shows, you’ll also want to check out his two CDs. The first is a wonderful assortment of thirty-five classic kids’ songs (a must-have for any kids’ music collection) and the second is a set of his own original songs. You should also look at Ed’s adorable original picture book, I Hope I Never Get Too Big! with illustrations by G.S. Picard. The book comes with a CD single featuring the song I Hope I Never Get Too Big! This would make a great Christmas gift!
If you do catch one of Ed’s sing alongs, let us know what you think! We’d love to hear from you!
