More Story Songs & Sing Alongs!

by Amber on March 12, 2010

You’ve been waiting for two and half years for the new Debbie & Friends CD. You know you’ve been hoping for more of those sweet, upbeat, classic kids’ songs that are fun to sing along to and bring new twists to your favorite children’s stories.

Well, your wait is over! Debbie’s new CD, More Story Songs & Sing Alongs, will be released at the end of this month on March 30th. How happy are you?

We were thrilled to get to listen to Debbie’s new CD a little early. The band has been playing So, So Happy at their shows for a few months now and it’s quickly become one of Ivan’s absolute favorite songs. As with so many of Debbie’s songs, the lyrics get the kids to interact with the music by asking them to jump, cheer, clap, and dance:

  • So happy jump around;
  • So happy make a sound;
  • So happy clap your hands;
  • So happy come on let’s dance!

You should see a room full of kids reacting to this song—it’s so much fun!

Simon Says and Rosie Wrong Rhyme are two other songs you may have heard at Debbie & Friends shows that have made it on to the new CD, but one of my favorite songs on this album is Willy Won’t, a song about Debbie’s nephew who always makes silly faces when being photographed. You can watch the adorable animated video for the song here.

Ivan loves Homerun Ronnie because it’s a song about baseball (you can download a copy of this song by clicking on the image above) and the Little Red Remix because it’s funky. Debbie is also inviting all of you to try remixing the song Willy Won’t for a chance to win cool prizes!

You don’t have much longer to wait for the new CD&#8212just to the end of the month&#8212but you could get one at a Debbie & Friends concert before then! Check out Debbie’s website to find out where they’ll be performing!
