Suzi Shelton

When I first heard Suzi Shelton’s CD, No Ordinary Day, my first thought was, “If you like Vanessa Trien, then you’ll want to listen to Suzi, too!”

Both artists are adorably sweet in both their demeanor and vocals and both can play a mean guitar! Both feature acoustic songs on their albums alongside some rockin’ tunes with lots of electric sounds, and both sing their songs from the heart, full of warmth and mother love that is almost palpable.

Suzi’s title song, No Ordinary Day, really captures that mommy charm. It’s sung from the point of view of a child who is excited about getting to be with their mom for the day. A day with mom, though “ordinary” in the sense that it happens all the time, is really extraordinary because mommies are just awesome people to be with! Maybe that sounds sappy, but the song really works and is so positive and full of love—plus, as a mom it’s nice to be appreciated!

I also love the beat in Jump! This is a really get up and dance kind of song. I’d love to see how Suzi plays this song live!

Fortunately for me (and you) Suzi is actually planning to come to Boston on October 30th to play in the KidsBeet Concert along with Charlie Hope and Ben Rudnick & Friends. Wow! Now that’s a show not to miss!

Stay tuned for more info on the KidsBeet concert and how to enter to win free tickets or purchase discounted tickets. It’s going to be a blast! And in the meantime, give Suzi’s CD a listen to so we can all be ready for her when she gets here next month.
