Tracey Singer is a stay-at-home-dad and musician who has found a way to combine all of his interests into one career: Singing songs for kids, of course!
Tracey’s debut album, Sweets ‘n’ Treats, is a fun and realistic look at life. Kids like to eat candy, camping can sometimes be a bummer, and yes, some kids are just plain mean.
Tracey says his idea is to show kids that even though they are “faced with a lot of weird situations in life, … they should know that some things ARE funny, and that’s okay.” Don’t take life too seriously! It’s a good idea to foster an “Oh well” attitude about things that you can’t control.
With this in mind, you’ll see that Tracey isn’t creating a “preachy” children’s CD. His songs are about real life situations and how funny they can really be. My favorite has to be Nana Nana Boo Boo where Tracey creates a mean little girl who laughs at people when they fall down. When she falls down and someone takes the time to be caring, does she learn her lesson? Of course not! And do you know why? Because the moral of the story is simple: “Mean people stink!” (I bet you didn’t see that one coming!)
Tracey also creates the smooth and cool character, Foxy Joe, on this CD with a funky song about this crazy guy. I do hope to see more songs with Foxy Joe in the future!
Sweets ‘n’ Treats is due for release on July 7th. You can learn more and pre-order your copy at Tracey’s website: www.TraceySinger.com.
