We went out to see Wayne Potash and the Music Fun Band perform at the Baldwin School in Cambridge on Sunday. The performance was part of a fundraiser for the Cambridge Nursery School.
Besides music, there were raffles, a bake sale, balloons, crafts, and face painting—but, as usual, we were there mainly for the music!
We had never seen Wayne Potash in concert before and we had a great time! The kids were jumping, dancing, and singing along to both original and traditional songs. Ivan really enjoyed “There Ain’t No Bugs on Me” and he wasn’t the only one. Paul, the band’s banjo player, would sneak behind Wayne and place big plastic bugs on his shoulder during the song. It’s such a simple trick, but kids just love it!

The band had a very rich sound (which is really saying something when you consider that they were playing in a gym) with an assortment of instruments, including a stand-up bass, a banjo (Ivan’s favorite), and even ukuleles.
What a fun way to spend a rainy Sunday!
Check out Wayne’s site for more info about his music: www.WaynePotash.com. And keep an eye on our Event Calendar for Wayne’s upcoming performances.
