What’s Happening this Weekend? May 2nd & 3rd

Kids playing.

It’s been warm and sunny this week so far, but this weekend may be a bit chilly and rainy. Looking for something fun to do indoors? Look no further…

David Polansky will be playing at 11am on Saturday at the Danforth Museum in Framingham. We’ve seen David perform before and he’s an energetic combination of story telling and jazzy music. And you don’t want to miss his trumpet playing!

At 2:30 on Saturday (and again at 3:00 on Sunday), there’s an interesting collection of music being performed to honor the life and works of Charles Darwin in Cambridge. This Darwin Bicentennial Revue is being put on by the North Cambridge Family Opera Company and it’s free!

Pam Espinoza is going to be performing at Davis Farm land on both Saturday and Sunday (not sure if that is an outdoor event, though) and Chris and Meredith Thompson (two of our favorite singers) will be showing kids how sounds work and how we are able to produce music during their Sound Science Fun show at Club Passim, Cambridge at 3pm on Saturday.

Last but not least, The Winchester Community Music School is holding their annual Music MAYnia event full of food, music demonstrations, games, and performances. The festival is on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:30, and it’s free!
